Honora Lee Wolfe: Clinical Pearls
Honora Lee Wolfe will open the East Coast Acupuncture Conference with an hour of her insights on the past & future of our profession. Next, she will present 3 hours of her preferred, advanced acupuncture protocols. After lunch, she will give a 3-hour demonstration of adjunct therapies (moxa, gua sha, liniments, etc). Honora distills decades of clinical experience into seven hours. Clear, practical, and straight to the point!
Saturday, October 11th
Dr Richard Tan, OMD: Seasonal Balance
Dr Tan is perhaps the most highly sought lecturer in the US Acupuncture community. Clearly, his methods are effective, but it his presentation that transforms so many acupuncturists’ lives.
Based upon the Ba Gua of the I-Ching, Dr Tan’s Seasonal Balance can be applied to the treatment of a wide range of internal and external disorders. This advanced system is based on the cyclical rhythms that govern our sleep patterns, hormone levels, and mental states. You will gain insight into why different points are more effective during specific seasons and times of day. Dr Tan demonstrates how he resolves seasonal disorders such as allergies, seasonal depression, and arthritic pain. Dr. Tan then illustrates this method with several case examples. He will also perform as many demonstration treatments as time allows.
This advanced course is open only to those who have attended Dr Tan’s Basic Balance course (now called "Clinical Wonders with Acupuncture 1, 2, 3). To get the most out of the seminar, it is recommended that you read all three of Dr Tan’s books before attending.

Dr Richard Tan, OMD: Advanced Day in Dr Tan’s Clinic & Dr Tan’s Qi Cultivation Method
Dr. Tan’s students report an 80% success rate using his clinical methods. However, Dr. Tan has a 95% success rate and he wants his students to learn his clinical methods in a more in-depth manner. In this practical class, Dr. Tan will walk participants through a typical day in his clinical practice. He gives a detailed discussion on the seven most common disorders that he sees in his patients: Low back pain, neck/shoulder pain, headaches, sinus problems, PMS, menopausal symptoms and intestinal diseases. He will give a detailed look into his thought process and discuss how he makes a differential diagnosis. Then, he will discuss which meridians and points he chooses, and he will give a brief discussion on applicable herbal formulas. Dr. Tan will give a hands-on demonstration and show how he treats his patients, including his needling technique.
This advanced course is open only to those who have attended Dr Tan’s Basic Balance course (now called "Clinical Wonders with Acupuncture 1, 2, 3). To get the most out of the seminar, it is recommended that you read all three of Dr Tan’s books before attending.
By popular demand, Dr Tan will teach and demonstrate his Qi Cultivation techniques. Dr Tan explains how this practice benefits the practitioner and patients alike. This part of the Advanced Day in Dr Tan's clinic course is worth the entire weekend's price of admission!
