The CEU semina and workshop is held at Bastyr University by Benjamin.
It aims on addressing 6 common lower back injuries, treatments are with Tuina techniques, acupuncture point selectionsand herbs. The classes will be explained in both the theries of western medicine and traditional Chinese mecicine.
At the end of the workshop, students are able to apply the knowledge to their patients.

This seminar is open to acupuncturists, naturopathic physicians, massage practitioners and students of these disciplines.
Tuina (Tui Na) is a form of traditional Chinese sports medicine, using pressure and manipulation of tissue to treat musculoskeletal injuries. In this class we will learn to use Tuina for treating common acute and chronic lumbar injuries. Students will be taught Tuina techniques for six common types of lower back pain which can immediately be applied to the medical practice. Specific topics include: sciatic pain, acute sprains of the waist, dysfunction of the lumbar vertebrae, traumatic syndrome of the piriform muscle, lumbosacral strain and the transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar vertebrae.
Benjamin Boonchai Apichai, MS, MD (China), LAc, received his medical training at Jinan University Medical School in China in 1993, followed by several medical internships in China. He received a master’s degree in acupuncture from Bastyr University in 1997. Dr. Apachai is a member of the clinical faculty at Bastyr Center for Natural Health and adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University where he teaches Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Tuina (Chinese massage), Dieda (Chinese sport medicine) and Thai Massage. He maintains a private practice at Acupuncture Center of Westlake in Seattle with a special interest in the integration of Western and Eastern medicine and the treatment of low back pain using herbs and Tuina.
