Tuina (Tui Na) is a form of traditional Chinese sports medicine, using pressure and manipulation of tissue to treat musculoskeletal injuries. In this class we will learn to use Tuina for treating common acute and chronic lumbar injuries. Students will be taught Tuina techniques for six common types of lower back pain which can immediately be applied to the medical practice. Specific topics include: sciatic pain, acute sprains of the waist, dysfunction of the lumbar vertebrae, traumatic syndrome of the piriform muscle, lumbosacral strain and the transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar vertebrae.
