Kiiko Live Seminar day one

L Brown's picture

It is such a pleasure to be able to organize these seminars with such great minds. Kiiko was very impressive treating case studies with endometriosis and extreme pelvic pain. Two of the case studies we had were actually in the midst of their menstrual flow and pain. It was amazing to watch her assess and clear away the pain while the patient was on the table.

I will definitely need to review her DVD as much of what and why she did went over my head. I think I will contact David Euler to come here and teach the basics so i can implement this style of diagnosis and treatment.

Would anyone else be interested in learning more of the basics. I hear David's teaching style is geared to the beginner who is new to Kiiko's style. Please let me know if this would of interest with you as I want to make sure this is something to pursue.

The next great minds presenting for www.prodseminars.com

Kiiko Seminar

AcuGuru's picture

I really enjoyed Kiiko's acupuncture lecture today. The case studies really showed how effective her style of medicine is. Some of her point choices where over my head. Bringing in someone who could give us a little back ground or introduction to Kiiko's style would be a huge benefit to what I've learned today.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's lecture on Menopause.

More on Kiiko style of acupuncture

girlpower's picture

Quick question if you have the time to answer since there is a discussion on Kiiko... is Kiiko style of acupuncture basically Japanese acupuncture or something different?

What is Kiiko style

L Brown's picture

Kiiko Matsumoto’s Style Acupuncture utilizes a systematic, easy to learn, instantaneous feedback, palpatory method that reveals a comprehensive diagnosis and a patient-unique, treatment plan. By looking deeply into structural and/or constitutional imbalances underling a patient’s symptomatic complaints, a Kiiko Style practitioner is able to successfully solve difficult cases and treat the most complex of possible medical issues. This style is largely inspired by the work of modern Japanese acupuncturists such as Master Nagano, Master Kawai and Kiiko’s vast clinical experience. Although highly clinically oriented and practical, this style of acupuncture is very close to the original classic texts (Ling Shu, Su Wen, and Nan Ching) and their important interpretations such as the Leiching. In this course interesting discussions and translations of ancient texts and point names are presented as hands on practical solutions to hard to cure diseases. This Kiiko Style Acupuncture workshop will provide a concise, yet comprehensive method of the treatment of orthopedics including, neck, shoulder, back, hip and knee pain.

Here is a pod cast on Kiiko.

Kiiko in Relationship to Japanese Acupuncture

Schulman's picture

Sally, good question. There is so much confusion out there. There is no one 'Japanese acupuncture'. There are, in fact, many different 'styles' of practice that all fall under the Japanese acupuncture umbrella. Kiiko's style is one. Keiraku Chiryo (meridian therapy based on Nan Jing pulse diagnosis) is another and forms the basis of Shudo Denmei's approach and the Toyohari school. Masakazu Ikeda's approach is another. Shakuju is another. And on and on and on. If you can get back issues of the North American Journal of Oriental Medicine (NAJOM) and flip through them, you will get a sense of the big wide world of 'Japanese acupuncture' While these different 'styles' are all quite different, they have some very distinct commonalities that make 'Japanese acupuncture' as a category clearly distinct. The popular notion is that, first and foremost, Japanese acupuncture is 'more gentle' than 'Chinese'. In general, this is only partially true - there are some 'agressive' needling techniques involved - but for sure it is nowhere near the most significant distinguishing feature of all Japanese approaches. First and foremost and by far and away, the most important is that PALPATION is primary in Japanese styles - whereas in other styles, it is practically absent. In all styles of Japanese acupuncture, the primary means by which the practitioner acquires information that leads to diagnosis/assessment and appropriate treatment is PALPATION. A very close second in terms of distinguishing features of ALL Japanese styles is that immediate feedback is built into the system (whether through pulse or palpable change on the abdomen or somewhere else) so you know within minutes of administering the treatment if it is correct (rather than just waiting a week). These are the two most distinguishing features of all Japanese styles, of which Kiiko's system is but one. Hope that helps. Daniel Schulman

Hi Lorne
Am very inspired by Kiko and would definitely be interested in coming to see David Euler if it was possible for you to bring him to Vancouver

Sincerely
Marion Starr

Me too

Clayton Willoughby's picture

Add me to the list of the folk interested in attending a weekend with David Euler. A nice systematic approach would certainly help me to be able to comprehend the notes I take, at least better than the ones from this past weekend anyways.

I was also looking for the video stuff regarding the Acupressure training you/Lorne had talked about that would be available. If there is a link to the section that would be great.

Thanks a bunch, Clayton

Kiiko Seminar

Lorne, Spence, Ryan,
Have you seen the patients that were treated by Kiiko on the day of the seminar? How are they and there symptoms? Did you continue on with Kiiko style acupuncture, or with your original treatment? I am curious, and would love any feedback. I have been trying to utilize what I learned, and I find it awesome, yet I also find I am using ALL the Point prescriptions. Lots to learn, and very excited.
Lorne, Deborah and I would also come up for David Euler, unless he comes here first!!!
Anyone else using Kiiko style, any suggestions??
Health, happiness, and prosperity,
Denise Noyer, L. Ac
